Traditional Music in the Heart of Chatham County, North Carolina
The traditional fiddlers convention meets family fun and education at Hoppin’ John. Last year, we held a “contest revival,” in the hopes of rekindling the heart of our beloved fiddlers conventions in our region, and it has to be said, at least for Hoppin’ John — pretty good showing! Over 40 registered bands played late into the night on Saturday. Let’s keep it going here and at all fiddlers conventions this summer.
For the musician and festival-goer alike, there are also workshops on a variety of music and dance styles, dances, kids activities, jamming and concerts.
